Enameling is a great way of adding colour to silver, copper and gold pieces using the medium of glass. This intermediate level class is suitable for anyone who has some experience of working in enamel and would like to take their work to the next level.
Techniques covered on this class include:
- Enameling on rings
- Correct preparation of enamels
- Basic cloisonne technique
- Enameling on silver
- Using silver and gold foils
The technique of cloisonne enamel is a skillful and intricate method of working. It is a very ancient technique much practiced in Japan and China with wonderful results. All students will have the chance to experiment with a range of enameling techniques on silver blanks, and leave with a brooch, pendant, pair of earrings or pair of cufflinks.
Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
As with all of our classes, all materials are included in the cost of the class as well as plenty of tea coffee and luxury biscuits! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable.
