Class Description
NEW! Learn from the experts, how to make fashion jewellery and getting by in the world of fashion.
This is a brand new class which we are very excited about, two of our expert tutors, Michael Milloy and Sarah Fiorenza will guide you through 2 intensive days of making and exploring the world of fashion jewellery.
Day 1 - Taught by catwalk jeweller Michael Milloy. Spend the day working with a range of materials. We will be focusing on working in perspex which is a perfect material for fashion jewellery as it is affordable so you can make big statement pieces and the ease of use produces instant results. The tutor will encourage you to look at different types of fashion jewellery and use pictures and pieces to inspire your own work. Other materials used include, chain, beads, metal, brass,ribbon and much more.
Day 2 - Taught by Sarah Fiorenza, She has designed jewellery for many high street stores including, River Island, Mikey, Miss Selfridge, Tesco, Next and Oasis as well as creating ranges for the French companies Camaieu and Promod. Spend the day exploring the world of fashion and working with a range of materials including, fabrics, beads metal and much more. You will begin the day with making a 'mood board' which will encourage you to focus on design, colours and style, following this you will make some fashion jewellery using a range or beads, buttons, ribbons, fabric, chain etc...
Classes are a maximum of 7 students so you will have plenty of time to ask questions and get personalised support from our tutors. They will also be talking about there routes into fashion jewellery and what it takes to survive in this market.
If you have any ideas, pictures etc.. please bring them along with you or perhaps pieces of fashion jewellery you have or like so that we can help develop ideas from there.
Excellent class for anyone wanting to work in fashion jewellery, set up a jewellery business or make fashion pieces for yourself!
As with all of our classes, all materials are included in the cost of the class as well as plenty of tea coffee and luxury biscuits! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable.
We take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio. If you have any questions regarding this, or other courses please don't hesitate to get in touch.
