Class Description
Design is one of the most important aspects of making jewellery yet it is one that is often overlooked. This is one of our only classes that is not technique based but focuses purely on design.
Over the course of 5 evening sessions you will be guided by our expert designer jeweller through the design process including the elements of design, where to start, how to make an idea a reality and much more.
You will be given a scrap book to get you going on your design journey and using images, drawings, materials etc... you will work through designing pieces and perhaps even a whole collection!
The class sizes are small and so you will have time to go through your ideas one-on-one with a professional designer and pick there brain about where there inspiration is from how they design pieces and they will support you in your designing.
There will also be a range of materials in the workshop for you to work with in your designing and the tutor will support you in working out which materials and resources you will need to make your projects a reality. However this is not a jewellery making course.
To really get the most out of this course it is best to come with ideas, objects or a theme to work from each week. You can even bring some materials you may be using and perhaps past pieces you have made.
This class is suitable for anyone, jewellers of all levels or even those who have not started making yet.
