About us
London Jewellery School is the UK's largest independent jewellery training centre based in London's famous jewellery quarter, Hatton Garden. With over 100 classes to choose from, more than 20 world-class jewellery tutors and two fully-equipped jewellery studios there is something at LJS for everyone.
Our motto is that 'everyone can make jewellery' which we truly believe. Our classes are suitable for all ages and abilities from complete beginners through to professional jewellers. We run classes on weekdays, evenings and weekends to suit all timetables and prices start from just £42. We also run very popular jewellery parties for both adults and children and work closely with local councils to deliver jewellery classes in schools and libraries in and around London.
Our Story
LJS was set up in 2008 by jewellery designer Jessica Rose who is now the school Director. It began with just one class a month from a community hall in Dulwich, South London and within two years has grown to be London's most popular jewellery training venue.
Jessica first attended a beginners beading jewellery class for fun and loved it so much that she decided to leave her full time job and made the brave move to set up her own jewellery business, making and selling jewellery. After a few years Jessica began teaching jewellery making classes in a community hall as a side-line. She found it so enjoyable that she decided to set up the London Jewellery School as a centre for world-class fun and accessible jewellery training classes in London.
All of Jessica's training has been through attending short courses like the ones we run at the jewellery school and she is a real advocate and believer in this method of learning.
in 2009 Jessica was awarded the Bronze award for young entrepreneur of the year by the UK's Skills Council for her work in setting up the Jewellery School and in 2011 was nominated for a Spirit of London Awards for her achievements. For more info on Jessica click here to see her profile.
