Elaine Yeung - Jewellery Photograhy Tutor
Photograph your jewellery.
Qualifications & Training:
I trained in Product Design at Central St Martins and have been freelancing in graphic design and photography ever since.
How I got involved in making jewellery:
When I was asked by my now brother in law to make wooden cufflinks for him and his groomsmen from the tree at the flat he shared with my sister.
Things I have done:
I designed and made bespoke packaging for luxury knickers which were sold in Selfridges. They were £232 a pair as it had a certified 0.1 carat diamond charm! I also hand made (hundreds of) chocolate truffles for guests at my sister's wedding. I have paddled 21 miles up the River Thames in a dragonboat and have cycled from London to Paris on a single speed bike.
Things I do now:
I freelance in graphic design and photography. I'm also known to bake a decent sourdough loaf.
Things I hope to achieve in the future:
To develop and market a range of wooden cufflinks.
Three words that describe me are:
Inquisitive, craft, adventurous.
I am inspired by:
The little things in life that usually go unnoticed.
My Favourite Jeweller is:
I'm a fan of pieces using unconventional materials such as concrete rings by Taiwan based 22designstudio.
