Class Description
Design is one of the most important aspects of making jewellery yet it is often over looked or just assumed that it is something you can simply come up with. Nearly all of our classes are technique based and very intensive so there is often not much time to really focus on design. This class was designed to do exactly that!
Our excellent tutors will guide you through the design process and where to start.
Topics and areas usually covered in this class include:
- Basic sketching for designs
- Finding inspiration (we have lots of magazines, books, samples and weird and wonderful things to get you going)
- The key elements of design
- And throughout the day we will get you started on making your very own design scrap book to kick-start your new collection
- What materials to use for what designs
- How to make your design ideas a reality
This course is focused on design and so is not essentially a practical jewellery making class, however some practical experimentation may included depending on the class progression.
Don't forget design as it is such an important consideration for any jeweller and a little design consideration can really create amazing results!
What you need to bring to this class:
For this class you don't need to bring anything but yourself as everything is provided. However, if you have any ideas, sketches, pieces of jewellery you have made or inspirational items please do bring them with you.
