Enameling is a great way of adding colour to silver, copper and gold pieces using the medium of glass. This intermediate level class is suitable for anyone who has some experience of working in enamel and would like to take their work to the next level.
Techniques covered on this class include:
- Enameling on silver
- Correct preparation of enamels
- Basic cloisonne technique
- Using silver and gold foils
And much more.
The technique of cloisonne enamel is a skillful and intricate method of working. It is a very ancient technique much practiced in Japan and China with wonderful results. All students will have the chance to experiment with a range of enameling techniques on silver blanks, and leave with a brooch, pendant, pair of earrings or pair of cuff links.
