London Jewellery School – Marketing Co-ordinator
Part Time: 3 days a week (working mainly from home with weekly or fortnightly visits to London Jewellery School)
£26,000 pro rata p.a. (plus £1000 training budget to spend on LJS courses)
The London Jewellery School are looking for an experienced and energetic marketer with strong skills in digital marketing, social media, ad management, copywriting, blog management and online learning. The role is to promote the school and classes ensuring regular bookings to both the physical school at www.londonjewelleryschool.co.uk and the online school www.jewelleryschoolonline.com in partnership with the rest of the LJS team.
The ideal candidate will have applied knowledge of digital marketing, basic jewellery photography and graphics skills as well as a proven track record of getting results through both online and off-line marketing efforts. This is a varied and diverse role for an all-round marketer who is able to build and develop partnerships with press, media and customers alike.

London Jewellery School is one of the world’s largest jewellery training centres, based in London’s famous jewellery quarter Hatton Garden. We host 100s of fun and professional jewellery classes which are open to students of all abilities from complete beginner through to experienced jewellers. The School was set up in 2009 and since staring we have trained over 15,000 students. We now have a thriving team of around 25 jewellery tutors, three staff members and three fully equipped studios. About the Role:
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and writing compelling content for the LJS blog
Regular email marketing and newsletters
Management of design and content for the annual prospectus
Managing all social media sites and online ad-campaigns including facebook ads and google ads.
Website management including copy and image updates
Building and managing our relationships with press, media, partners and TV channels
Advertising and editorial management with magazines, producing artwork and copy for press
Writing articles on jewellery making, jewellery business and creativity
Generating press and marketing opportunities for LJS
Marketing our online courses site and kits at Jewellery School Online
Events management, both internal and external.
Take overall responsibility for LJS sales and marketing in liaison with school Director.

Job Title: Marketing Co-ordinator
Time: A total of 3 days a week (based on a 9am-6pm regular day) flexibility to work from home and work flexi-time over different days in the week
Salary: £26,000 p.a. pro rata (plus £1000 to spend on LJS classes)
Locations: A combination of London Jewellery School in Hatton Garden, Forest Hill in South London and working from home

Roles and Responsibilities:
Image and Graphics Management - Including taking professional photographs of class samples, classes in action and other related set-ups for the London Jewellery School. Creating simple graphics for social media, the website, blog posts, adverts and more.
Managing email marketing - this includes curating and writing all LJS newsletters including a fortnightly regular newsletter and additional mail outs when needed. As well working on emails and proofing documents for our sister site JewellerySchoolOnline.com (LJSO)
Jewellery School Online - Supporting the Director in the marketing of our online training site, Jewellery School online. Including drafting newsletters, managing sales funnels, course launch sequence, facebook advertising, student liason and support and helping the growth of the community and platform.
Blog - Writing copy for and managing the LJS blog: blog.londonjewelleryschool.co.uk this includes liaising with other content writers and tutors as well as writing copy, taking pictures and tracking progress for monthly management reports.
Social Media – managing our social media pages in liason with other staff members, including facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest, google plus and more. Scheduling regular content, engaging and building community. Brand building and selling classes and products.
Paid advertising – managing the Facebook and Google ad accounts. Launching campaigns, tracking progress, reporting to the director and team.
Prospectus - To manage the creation of our annual LJS prospectus including writing copy for class promotion, taking or editing images and liaising with designers and printers to carry out the project on time and to budget.
Create and Craft TV - To support the Director, Jessica Rose in the promotions and management of our contracts with Create and Craft TV channel and developing partnerships and relationships with our supplies partners for jewellery tools and kits.
Press and Advertising:
• Writing and sending out press releases
• Taking and editing pictures
• Image gallery management
• Proof reading the website, newsletters and LJS documents as required
• Developing the LJS mailing lists
• Liaising with relevant magazines and members of the press about features for LJS
• Seeking out active press opportunities for LJS and LJSO
• Inviting members of the press and blog owners to LJS classes
• Handling email and telephone enquiries relating to marketing
• Management of all LJS advertising including producing adverts and sending off on time and to budget.
Sales and Marketing:
Promoting the Diplomas and other LJS classes to prospective and current students
Compiling and sending off the yearly prospectus on time and to budget
Developing key partnerships for LJS marketing
• Keeping the website up-to-date. Adding new, relevant class images and checking class descriptions are accurate. General website updates in liason with the Director.
• Organising and uploading/promoting how-to projects (both online and for print)
• To update the website and content regularly to ensure all information is kept relevant.
• To organize external events and shows throughout the year in partnership with the staff team and Director.
• Support General manager and staff team with internal events such as open evenings, Diploma exhibitions and talks.
A knowledge of and passion for jewellery making and learning
Experience with blogging and using wordpress.
Ability to produce accurate marketing reports and strategic/ creative mind to come up with suggestions for increasing bookings and student engagement.
Excellent writer with copy writing experience for marketing
Digital marketing experience
Basic Photoshop skills or able to use and or similar programmes for designing artwork
Excellent customer service and people skills
Experience developing partnerships
Experience with using Mailchimp for designing and developing email marketing campaigns
Proof reading skills
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
• Previous experience of managing and growing a successful blog
• Jewellery Photography skills (Macro)
• Knowledge of the jewellery and craft industry
• PR experience and working with magazines, publishing or the media
• Knowledge of or experience working with online courses and content
