How I got involved in making jewellery:
I've always been a creative/crafty person and enjoyed making things. I was given a Beginners Silver Jewellery class at LJS as a gift a long time ago from a family member and I've never looked back. I've done alot of courses with various learning providers and trained with different jewellers. I started off working from the kitchen table and slowly upgraded my workshop space over the years. I now work from my lovely spacious studio in the Essex countryside and absolutely love it!
Things I have done:
It's hard to think of things like this when you are asked. I can't compete with Sunita's jet setting lifestyle!
Two facts about me...I have worked for some pretty high profile individuals and sung a solo in the vatican(very terrifying).
My biggest achievements so far:
I think my biggest achievement so far is finding a job that I genuinely look forward to going to. I don't think there are many people my age that can say that.
Things I hope to achieve in the future:
Continue working on my own jewellery brand and make that a success! On a side note, I also want to learn to grow my own vegetables.
Three words to describe me:
Friendly, creative and ambitious.
I am inspired by:
Alot of things really. I think the people closest to me are my biggest inspiration. When it comes to creative inspiration I always think you can never really know where it will come from. You can get the greatest idea in the weirdest of places.
My favourite jeweller is:
There are alot of independant designer makers on instagram that I follow. I couldnt possibly narrow them down, there are so many talented people out there.
Where can we see more of your work?
I post regular updates of my work on instagram - https://www.instagram.com/anvilandivyjewellery/
