Soutache Jewellery Taster Class
Learn the basics of making beautiful soutache jewellery in this fun and creative taster class.
Soutache, (also referred to as 'Russian Braid') is a predominantly sewing-based technique of building layers of cords in a way that beads can be placed side-by-side. The threads can be curved and shaped into a range of patterns giving a stunning visual effect.
In this class our expert tutor, Sarah Burnett-Moore will guide you through all the basics and show you how to make a glamorous pendant to take home with you. You will use a range of flatbacked stones, beads, soutache threads, needle and thread, glue and fabric to make your jewellery - all things that are very easy to source and can be done from home after the class. And what's more, once you have learnt the technique you can use it to make a whole range of jewellery items - so the sky's the limit!
This is a fun and interactive class that is suitable for complete beginners, no previous experience in either jewellery making or sewing is necessary.
As with all of our classes, all materials are included in the cost of the class as well as plenty of tea, coffee and luxury biscuits! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The size of the classes is kept small to allow plenty of one-on-one attention and the maximum number of students for this class is 8.
