Stone Setting in Wax – 2 day course including rub over settings and claw settings
This 2 Day course runs over two consecutive days and covers a variety of different stone setting in wax techniques.
Day 1 will focus on ‘Rub over’ settings including setting faceted and cabochon stones
Day 2 will focus on ‘claw’ style settings
You can expect to create 2-3 finished pieces and some test pieces during the course

PLEASE NOTE: As this is an advanced level course, you will need to have attended BOTH the Beginners Wax Carving AND Intermediate Wax Carving plus some projects on your own before enrolling on this course.
In this intensive 2-day class, all students will learn to carve and shape the wax to create a simple rub over setting for a round or oval cabochon, or round faceted stone. On day 2 you will learn how to create a claw setting with wax.

PLEASE NOTE: WE WILL ONLY BE WORKING IN WAX AS WE WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO SEND THE PIECE OFF TO BE CAST INTO METAL.
As with all of our classes, all materials are included in the cost of the class as well as plenty of tea, coffee and luxury biscuits! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The size of the classes is kept small to allow plenty of one-on-one attention and the maximum number of students for this class is 7.
We take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio. If you have any questions regarding this, or other courses please don't hesitate to get in touch.
