Catwalk is King!

A royal welcome for a new catwalk jewellery class at LJS

So everyone knows that when it comes to fashion catwalk is king, its where we get our fashion fix, inspiration, hints and tips for the next season and no sooner than its out we see commercial versions of these masterpieces hitting the high street in the form of ‘not-so-cheap’ but cheerful collections of Accessorize, Top-shop, M&S, Oasis and countless others. No matter how hard we try to stay unique, original and off the beaten track with our designs you can’t help but be influenced by the catwalk in some way shape or form.

Busy in the studio, Pics from our first catwalk jewellery class

So here at London Jewellery School we have decided to embrace our inner Alexander McQueen and bring the catwalk to our studio. This week saw the launch of our 1-day intensive Catwalk Jewellery Workshop run by multi award winning jewellery designer Zoe Harding. Zoe is a professional jeweller who runs her own jewellery label, ‘Zoe Harding Jewellery’. Her credentials include designing for over three years for Vivienne Westwood, winning numerous awards for her truly stunning jewellery collections and she is currently working on lots of exciting new projects.

Collection of random materials and inspiration for catwalk inspired creations

Our lucky students spent the day with Zoe in the studio designing, making, experimenting and playing with a whole bunch of wacky and random materials with an aim to create a finished item of catwalk inspired jewellery by the end of the day. It was a tall order but as always they delivered and you can see some of the lovely creations in the images below:

Two lovely pieces made in our first catwalk jewellery class by students – We love them!

If you fancy yourself as a catwalk jeweller, like some of the pieces made today or would like to gain some fresh inspiration and energy for your jewellery, Zoe will be teaching our Catwalk Jewellery Workshop once a month until November this year. However places are limited to 7 students per class so book in early to avoid missing out.
