Inspirations: Kinetic Jewellery

· · · Comments

Jewellery that moves, has hidden compartments or can be worn in different ways all adds a certain degree of playfulness to your jewellery and we love it!

Here are a few examples of our favourite kinetic pieces & the jewellers who make them:

 Alan Ardiff

Alan is an Irish jeweller who creates stunning, quirky and fun kinetic jewellery, please do look at his website for his full range. The LJS top pick is his Alphabets pendant:

Inspired by Seamus Heaney’s poem ‘Alphabets’ this limited edition kinetic pendant reveals the words ‘The letters of this alphabet were trees’ as it moves on the chain.

Theo Fennell

London based jeweller Fennell is a master craftsman, who designs and creates stunning bespoke jewellery form his Fulham studio.

We love all of Fennell’s Masterworks rings, but the Davy Jones Locker Ring takes the LJS pick (this time anyway!), not only does the top dome open, but so does the treasure chest inside!

Victoria Walker

Victoria lives and works in Cornwall, producing her stunning range of kinetic fine jewellery.

Michael Berger

Berger is a South African jeweller who has his own studio in Germany, where he makes his amazing kinetic jewellery.  The fun part about Berger’s website is that you can see each of the kinetic rings in motion – very entertaining.
