Jewellery events 2014
If you make, sell or just love jewellery, is there anything better than getting out and looking at some fabulous pieces and sparkly gems? And perhaps falling in love with and buying a piece of contemporary glamour.
Here we share details of a few of our favourite jewellery events coming up this year – and look out for our tips on great museums to visit to see jewellery in, coming soon.
Made In Clerkenwell: Summer Open Studios, 15-18 May
More than just jewellery. The Made in Clerkenwell event allows you to visit a range of makers as the skilled craftspeople of Craft Central open their studios in London for you to shop and see them work. jewellery, fashion, interior products, ceramics, accessories and traditional crafts by over 100 designers across the two Craft central buildings take part in the show which is must for everyone who loves the handmade. There is also a winter event in November.
Dazzle, August and December
Dazzle run three shows of contemporary jewellery each year – a summer event in Edinburgh (1-31 August) at the, Dovecot Studios on Infirmary Street. At the end of 2014 they will be holding shows in Manchester and on London’s South Bank.

International Jewellery London, 31 August – 2 September
The Uk’s biggest jewellery event, IJL, is an international trade show open to people who work in the jewellery sector. If you have a jewellery business you can register to visit sections showing the latest in fine jewellery, silver, contemporary design, gems and more. This is an opportunity to see the latest jewellery trends and get an insight into the international jewellery industry.
Goldsmith’s Fair, 22 September to 5 October
Now in its 32nd year, the Goldsmiths’ Fair, in London, is regarded as the UK’s premier event for contemporary designer jewellery and silverware. It’s a celebration of the best of British goldsmithing and silversmithing talent and a treasure trove of creativity and craftsmanship. The show runs over two weeks but is actually two shows in one with all the content changing for week two.
Desire features contemporary jewellers and silversmiths who are selected for “their superb and innovative craftsmanship”. It is a great chance to meet makers and experience their passion for their work. Desire runs two shows a year, one in London, and the November show in Winchester’s historic Guildhall.
