Introduction to Peyote Stitch, Friday 31 July, 10am-5pm
This special one day class for National Beading Week is an introduction to this popular and versatile beading stitch for anyone new to beadwork or interested in developing their skills.
Working with small seed beads, needle and thread, over the course of the day you will learn how Peyote stitch works, and how to use it to create flat panels of beadwork as well as how to create three dimensional shapes and ropes.
This will be a busy day, covering how to do flat even count peyote stitch, designing your own chart and making a simple pin brooch. We will also look at creating peyote stitch ropes and tubes, as well as creating different shapes with the stitch – using increases and decreases to turn a flat sheet or disk into a three dimensional shape.
