Making jewellery at Hampton Court

· · · Comments

This year saw the first ever Handmade Fair spearheaded by Kirstie Allsopp.

The three day event, held in the beautiful grounds of Hampton Court Palace, featured an unusual structure: it wasn’t just about shopping. As part of your ticket you got to choose a skill workshop of your choice, a session in the super theatre learning from the likes of Kirstie Allsopp and Cath Kidston and a ticket to a ‘grand make’. Plus there was a lovely shopping village.

The jewellery skills workshops were run by us at the London Jewellery School. We ran six classes per day in cocktail ring making, bracelet making and chandelier earring making. Over the three day event we taught over a thousand people. Everyone really can make jewellery.

With huge thanks to Bronagh Miskelly, Mary Ann Nelson, Gail Florio, Penny Akester, Hayley Kruger, Amanda Baptiste, Anna Campbell and Annie Mason for making the event such a success. See you again next year!
