Our doors are always open – Pics & bits from our recent open evening…

Last week saw the long awaited first ever official LJS open evening, hopefully the first of many. We opened our doors for an evening for everyone and anyone to come and have a look at our lovely studios, meet some super tutors and pick our brains about classes and of course, making jewellery.

A full house for the evening!

As it was our first one, we were unsure of how many prospective students to expect but were pleasantly surprised to have a full house – so thanks alot to everyone who managed to make it down and to anyone who missed it, don’t worry, we are already busy planning another one for early September.

Demonstrations from Chu-mei and Michelle on Metal Clay and Enamel

One of the highlights of the evening was a selection of ongoing demonstrations from 4 of our expert jewellery tutors: Michael Milloy on perspex and silver, Michelle Leaver on enamel, Chu-mei Ho on metal clay and Helen Stay on beading and wirework. They certainly seemed popular and hopefully has inspired a few new budding jewellers.

Raising a toast

Last but by no means least, in true London Jewellery School style we of course raided our drinks cupboard and cracked out the cookies to raise a glass of wine and a custard creme (of course not, more like a luxury choc-chip) to jewellery making, which we are endlessly passionate about and it was lovely to see so many others interested too. To all of our students old and new, thanks for your support and our door is always open to pop in anytime you like.

Have a lovely weekend and Happy Making
