It's Stone Setting time!
Join us for 2 days (in a row) to master the basics of stone setting.
If you have made silver jewellery you may well be tempted to start adding some beautiful gemstones to your work through stone setting. If so this course was made for you...
What you will make:
Over the two days you will learn three fundamental stone settings:
1. Cabochon Setting (using a flat-backed stone)
2. Tube setting (using a diamond shaped stone)
3. Flush setting
By the end of the course you will have three settings in silver to take home with you. These skills will be invaluable in extending the work you can do with silver jewellery.
It is one of our most popular courses that we have run for well over 10 years, taught by expert tutors and all materials are provided.
Who is this course for?
Anyone who would like to learn stone setting who has some silver jewellery making experience. If you are a beginner we recommend you take the beginners silver jewellery and soldering masterclass before you take this course. The more previous experience you have with silver the better for your stone setting.
It is an intense class so do come prepared to focus and work hard on your lovely settings.
What you need to bring to this class:
For this class you don't need to bring anything but yourself as everything is provided. However, if you want to bring some of your own stones you can and the tutor will advise as to whether these are suitable for use in this class. If not, then we can always give advice on how they can be used in future.
General Info:
As with all of our classes, all materials are included in the cost of the class as well as plenty of tea, coffee and luxury biscuits! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The size of the classes is kept small to allow plenty of one-on-one attention and the maximum number of students for this class is 8.
We take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio. If you have any questions regarding this, or other courses please don't hesitate to get in touch.
