This is an intensive version of our 1-year Diploma in Creative Jewellery. Over 7 weeks, Monday-Friday, you will complete the full year-long course and upon reaching the criteria, will achieve the Diploma qualification. This is perfect for overseas students or those wanting intensive training over the summer.
The course runs Monday-Friday 10am-5pm.
What is included:
Included in the cost of the course are all of the basic materials needed for each lesson, use of our fully equipped studios during your classes and our usual expert tuition. You will also be assigned a support tutor who will be marking your work and will meet with you regularly to review and discuss your progress. These meetings will be outside of your scheduled course time You will be given up to 5 free days of studio time throughout the course (worth £150) which you will have access to at the end of the course to prepare for your final exhibition.
As a special gift for our Diploma students, you will also have 1 years membership to Jewellers Academy with 100s of online tutorials to support your in-person learning (worth £365).
What will be expected of you:
You will be expected to attend all classes. It is also advisable to put aside some time to practice and develop your skills outside of lessons and allow time to work on your own designs. You will be encouraged by your tutor to attend galleries and jewellery events and exhibitions (although this is not necessary to pass the course).

Week 1: Beginners Beading - Intermediate Beading - Beginners Metal Clay - Adding Gold to Metal Clay - Beads in Metal Clay.
Week 2: Rings in Metal Clay - Stone Setting in Metal Clay - Jewellery Design - Fashion Jewellery - Beginners Wire Wrapping.
Week 3: Polymer Clay - Beginners Silver Jewellery - Piercing, Polishing and Finishing - Soldering Masterclass - Intermediate Silver Jewellery.
Week 4: Technical Drawing - Beginners Wax Carving - Fused Glass - Resin Day 1 - Resin Day 2.
Week 5: Trip to V&A & GIA - Intermediate Wax Carving - Stone Setting In Silver Day 1 - Stone Setting in Silver Day 2 - Perspex.
Week 6: Enamelling - Advanced Silver Day 1 - Advanced Silver Day 2 - Jewellery Business Day - Photograph your Jewellery.
Week 7: Bench-time, finishing off pieces and marking days.
Final project: At the end of the course you will have the opportunity to create and exhibit a collection of 5 pieces of your own work (made in your own time with your own materials) which you will exhibit at a final exhibition along with other diploma students.
Course dates:
The course starts on Monday 22nd July 2019 and finishes on Friday 6th September 2019.
The course runs every weekday from 10-5pm. To pass the course you will need to attend each day and create the pieces required of the mark scheme.

Payment schedule:
Installment 1: £975.00 three months before course start date (or at time of booking)
Installment 2: £975.00 two months before course start date
Installment 3: £975.00 payable one month before course start date
Installment 4: £975.00 payable at the start of the course
