Following an introduction to working with glass, our expert tutor will guide you through a series of projects designed to cover a full range of techniques and skills. You will have the chance to experiment and try out different colours, shapes and sizes etc.
What you make is up to you but most students leave with 5 or 6 finished glass pieces ready to be made into jewellery. All of the pieces you make will be fired in a kiln ready for you to take home at the end of the day.
Please note this course concentrates on glass working techniques and you will not make finished pieces of jewellery during the course. However, the pieces can easily be made into earrings, pendants, rings or brooches at home using simple jewellery making techniques that will be demonstrated.
We will also provide you with plenty of information on how to carry on making glass jewellery after the class, either as a hobby or for a creative business idea. This will include information on where you can buy supplies, access to kilns and much more.
Glass is a great colourful and affordable material. It can be used in combination with other materials such as metal clay to make beautiful mixed media pieces.
