A great follow on from the Beginners Silver Jewellery I Course...
This intensive 1 day class is designed to expand upon the Beginners Silver Jewellery I class, including using various ways to shape metal and create three-dimensional items, as well as more complex soldering tasks such as incorporating multiple solder joins on a single piece and creating silver balls.
Students will create a decorated spinner ring and a three dimensional pendant that incorporates several joined or layered elements.
This class is not for beginners, but is designed to give those with basic Silversmithing experience, and those who may be a little rusty, further confidence in working with their tools and materials, as well as to add new skills to their repertoire.
What you need to bring to this class:
For this class you don't need to bring anything but yourself as everything is provided. However, it is a good idea to think about the design of 3D pendant and spinner ring you would like to make and bring any ideas you have; pictures, sketches or pieces you like.
The price of this course includes a silver allowance which is generally enough to make one to two pieces depending on size. Students who wish to make larger pieces can do so; if a student goes over their dedicated allowance then the extra is paid per gram at the going rate.
General Info:
As with all of our classes, all materials are included in the cost of the class as well as plenty of tea, coffee and luxury biscuits! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The size of the classes is kept small to allow plenty of one-on-one attention and the maximum number of students for this class is 8.
We take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio. If you have any questions regarding this, or other courses please don't hesitate to get in touch.
